A Dive Into the Georgia Aquarium

This post will provide you with insight about what to expect when visiting the Georgia Aquarium and how you can make the most of your experience.

ADMISSION & TICKETS

Open 365 days a year. An aquarium ticket ranges from 40 - 55 USD depending on the day you choose to go. Buying a ticket online before your intended aquarium visit will definitely save you a couple dollars.

Our ticket appointment for the Georgia Aquarium was at 10am. We figured we’d schedule for an early entry time because we wanted to beat the crowd. Well low and behold the crowd met us there at 10am, lol. Turns out the aquarium was beyond spacious enough so we didn’t feel flustered. Everyone was spread out amongst the many galleries within the aquarium.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO EXPERIENCE THE GEORGIA AQUARIUM?

I highly suggest giving yourself at least 3-4 hours to spend at the aquarium.

GALLERIES | EXHIBITS

Tropical Diver | Experience eels, sea horses, clown fish, and coral reefs. The Tropical Diver gallery is mesmerizing and truly is a great way to begin your experience at the Georgia Aquarium.

Ocean Voyager | Whale Sharks, Manta Rays and more. This was one of my favorite galleries. There was so much to take in and learn about. The tunnel gives a breathtaking insight as it slowly moves you through the gallery via conveyor belt.

There are many more galleries throughout the aquarium: Cold Water Quest, River Scout, Predators of the Deep, and Dolphin Quest. They feature beautiful creatures such as Beluga Whales, Puffins, Dolphins, and Sea Dragons.

CAFE

Located on the upper level of the aquarium is the Coastline Cafe. They offer burgers, pizzas, chicken tenders, beer, wine, etc. I got a quesadilla that ended up being smaller than the size of my hand… lol. So FYI don’t go for the quesadillas!

Outside food and beverages are NOT permitted in the aquarium. Exceptions are made for small children.
